GALESBURG — With Sandburg’s new Charge Forward program, students can fast-track their future by focusing on just two classes at a time, meeting in person one evening a week and completing their associate degree in only two years.

This innovative program allows students to work toward their Associate in Arts degree through online courses while also meeting in person each Tuesday evening, making it an ideal fit for those looking for a fixed schedule, especially adult students who are already in the workforce.

The Charge Forward program is an open-enrollment program, meaning there are no criteria students must meet to be admitted.

Starting this fall semester, students can map out their entire two-year schedule through a series of eight-week classes. The Charge Forward program’s small class sizes allow for more one-on-one attention from instructors, and students can take advantage of free online and individual tutoring. Enrollees can also utilize other campus services such as academic advising, financial aid, disability support, student life events and student leadership opportunities.

In the end, they’ll have earned a degree, and likely with little or no debt to show for it. Ninety-two percent of Sandburg students graduate with zero student loan debt. For those who do owe, the average amount is just $3,400.

In addition to state and federal financial aid, students in the Charge Forward program could be eligible for assistance through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), which helps job seekers access employment, education, training and support services to succeed in the labor market while matching employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy. Learn more about WIOA, and complete this form to determine your eligibility.
